Car. W212 e220. Hi. I have a strange issue with my 2014 w212 e220cdi gearbox. Please bear with me as I'll try to explain as best I can. Once I go for a drive everything is fine, lets me choose a gear and changes smooth enough and let's me choose between E, S and M modes and allows me to change gears manually with paddles behind steering wheel.
Loss of Acceleration while driving. This involves my 2012 W204 C250 (65K miles). Recently, I was attempting to merge onto a relatively busy street from a stop. As the car was reaching 50mph, the car surged forward and began to decelerate. I let off the pedal and slowed down to about 35-40 mph and noticed the car seemed to have lost its power to
C240 estate 2002. Dec 28, 2021. #3. The car is detecting a fault condition and the gearbox is going into ‘limp’ mode. It really needs diagnosing by someone who knows what they are doing e.g. a Mercedes specialist independent or a dealer. It is possibly something simple like a leaking pilot bush, low fluid etc.
Replaced the Seals and Connector attachment at the Connector assembly. Cleaned the Connector pins on Conductor Plate and Connector socket from the TCU. Tested the Conductivity to the Solenoids from the Socket at the TCU.They all show +- 5ohm resitance. I can also hear them "click" in the gearbox if I use 12v.
As usual, the simplest things can lead to major problems in the 722.9. The majority of the failures we’ve run into are caused by the O-rings on the tips of the solenoids deteriorating, leaking fluid, and not properly stroking valves (figure 1). We’ve seen the O-rings cut, some missing, and the clutch they operate usually burns.
Bring the vehicle to a complete stop on level ground. Press the parking brake button on the side of the steering wheel. Open the driver’s door, remain in the vehicle, and press the brake pedal. Move the gear selector stack to neutral by pressing it up or down. Disconnect both auxiliary and car batteries.
