My RF 24-105 is pretty sharp and never used the EF version. My EF 24-105/4 L IS very sharp. And about same size and in fact a little lighter than the RF which was surprising. The EF 24-105 f4 L IS USM 2 weight is 795 gram. The RF 24-105 f4 L IS USM weight is 700 gram. The RF R combi is slightly shorter. (The EV extends 1.5cm more at the back.) Overall the R is a touch better than the EF for IQ. The zoom ring is difficult to find on the RF. Considering this will be one of your most used walkaround lenses for many years, this is a good upgrade M1wA.
